Call me “basic” all you want, but I am OBSESSED with everything Fall. After a recent $150 Fall Decor trip to Christmas Tree Shops with my husband, it has taken everything in me NOT to hang my leaf wreath and light my Sugared Pumpkin Swirl Yankee Candle.
Normally, being mid September, I’d be eagerly running around in a hoodie and fuzzy socks while savoring a pumpkin coffee (or beer) hanging my decorations…but it seems as though Mother Nature is still holding on to Summer here at the Jersey Shore. With temps still hovering around high 70s, low 80s, I am refusing to decorate for Fall until it feels more like it!
Regardless, this easy, D.I.Y. Pumpkin Spice Lip Scrub is a favorite of mine and will definitely get you into the Autumn spirit! I’ve tweaked some recipes over the years to make it my own and find what works best for me!
Not only does this scrub smell (and taste) AMAZING, it has great health benefits for your lips, takes MINUTES to make, and is inexpensive, especially because you may already have some (if not all) of these products lying around your kitchen!

There are simply 5 ingredients:
- Coconut Oil– SUPER moisturizing and hydrating. You may even want to slather some of this on by itself to serve as your lip moisturizer after your scrub. Bonus: coconut oil even has antimicrobial properties–meaning it can help protect against germs and bacteria.
- Honey– helps to condition and moisturize. It also helps lighten and brighten the color of your lips.
- Vanilla Extract– contains antioxidants that help protect against environmental stressors on the skin and lips
- Brown Sugar– exfoliates and gets rid of dry, dead skin cells.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice– cinnamon in the spice mix helps stimulate blood flow to the lips, giving a slight plumping effect.
Note: This recipe makes a small personal batch. Adjust as needed if you desire a larger batch, or if gifting to others

Directions:

To Use:
- Open container and dip finger into scrub.
- Apply to dry lips in circular motions for 10-20 seconds (breathe in the Fall delicious-ness).
- Remove with warm water and paper towel (alternatively, can be licked off).
- Apply favorite hydrating lip treatment. (I love using coconut oil for this step.)
That’s it! Make a larger batch and gift to your friends and co-workers (they’ll love you for it!)
